Stochastic Information Processing in Biological Systems II — Statistics, Dynamics, and Phase Transitions

We discuss the use of probabilistic automata and networks of probabilistic automata as a framework for modeling biological information processing and explore several consequences. In particular, we use the Ising model and recurrence in Brownian motion to argue that the brain uses its two-dimensional surface for primary data access, and consider biological attacks on polynomial-time, and nondeterministic polynomial-time problems, My talk and this paper form a continuation of joint work with Richard Pekelney (Hastings and Pekelney,1982).
