A fast adaptive blind equalization algorithm robust to channel order over-estimation errors

This paper presents a new algorithm for the blind equalization of FIR-SIMO systems. The proposed equalizer has several advantages and particular features that are studied in this work. More precisely, (i) we prove its robustness against channel order over-estimation errors, (ii) we propose an efficient fast adaptive implementation of our equalizer, (iii) we derive a statistical performance analysis to compare the equalization performance with that of the optimal MMSE equalizer and finally (iv) we develop a two-step procedure to further improve the performance gain and control the equalization delay. Simulation results are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed blind equalization algorithms.
