Performance model for TCP over link layer on correlated channels for wireless data communication

The focus of the paper is to propose an analytical model for the operation of TCP over multi-copy SR ARQ systems on wireless fading channels. A major contribution is a competent analytical approach which promotes better understanding of the behavior of the wireless link layer protocol with correlated errors and the interaction between end-to-end TCP and local link layer protocol. The analytical TCP model suggested by J. Padhye et al. (see IEEE/ACM Trans. Networking, vol.8, p.133-45, 2000) is also reinvestigated in the wireless portion of the network. The accuracy of the analytical model is validated by simulation.
