timal variable aim control strategy for improving transient stability of AC/DC systems

abstractnonlinear control strategy to improve the transient stability of AC / DC systems is presented. On the basis of establishing an observation decoupled state space model of multi-machine power systems, and applying the theory of optimal variable aim control (OVAC), a comprehensive nonlinear control strategy for HVDC and generator excitation is deduced. The control strategy is easy to be implemented because it needs only local information, driving system states firstly to an artificial medial equilibrium point and secondly to a desirable equilibrium point. The simulation results show that the proposed method can improve transient stability of AC / DC systems obviously.
