Vertical Displacement Sliding Mode Control of a Half-Vehicle Active Suspension

This paper presents the model and the control of a half-vehicle active suspension based on classical sliding mode control using two increased Lyapunov surfaces. This technique allows limitation of the front and the rear body vertical displacement by supplying control forces to suspension system when travelling on rough road. Hence, it will limit the pitch to ensure the best performances of the suspension such as comfort and stability of the vehicle.
