Viscosity-matched single-mode fibers

We reviewed the viscosity characteristics and scattering characteristics of silica glasses. We also reviewed the viscosity-matching technique. This technique is very promising for realizing low-loss fiber where the difference between core and cladding viscosities is relatively large.
