The invention provides a real-time image defogging method based on the image field depth. Firstly, gray level image processing is carried out on a foggy image; secondly, the gray level image is divided, the dark primary color image is calculated in a minimum value mode, the atmosphere light value is estimated, a rough atmosphere dissipation image and a field depth mask are calculated; thirdly, edge-feathered masks and enhanced images with different field depths are calculated; lastly, fusing is carried out, and a defogged image is obtained. According to the method, when a single image is processed, the field depth information is added into an image contrast increasing method, an image layer fusing method is adopted, parallel computing can be carried out, the real-time performance is high, and the defogging effect is obvious.
