Automatic control system for stage lights

In this paper we present an automatic control system for stage lights that can be used for small events. The system has two main functions: it can perform a generic light show that corresponds to a specific music type like jazz, pop or rock, or it can adapt to the music performed on stage by the artist. The system uses an Arduino Mega for processing the collected data from a MEMS microphone breakout board and a specialized graphic equalizer chip and for controlling the LED lights. The system is designed to be in the low cost range so an independent or debutant artist can acquire it.
