Water Supply System Rehabilitation

This report was prepared to assist practicing engineers meet the challenge of rehabilitating old drinking water systems, many of which have been in existence for over 100 years and are deteriorating for a variety of reasons. Water systems inventory is covered first. Problems associated with different types of facilities are discussed separately including rehabilitation and maintenance of wells, water supply dams and reservoirs, water pumping station rehabilitation, water treatment plant rehabilitation, water main breaks, distribution system testing and rehabilitation techdniques, piping system cleaning, and rehabilitation and maintenance of steel water storage tanks. Special sections are included on preventative maintenance and financing rehabilitation projects.
