A modified locally conformal FDTD for broadwall radiating slot in a finite wall thickness waveguide

A modified locally conformal finite-difference time-domain method (MLC-FDTD) is presented in this paper, which is used to analyze broadwall radiating slots in a finite wall thickness waveguide, including the longitudinal slot and the inclined slot. In this paper, we make a direct analysis of the bulletheaded slots using MLC-FDTD, and give the transformation errors of two kinds of equivalent methods frequently employed in the engineering design; the equal-area and the equal-perimeter transformations from the squareheaded slot to bulletheaded slot. The results show that the equal-area transformation is more accurate. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
