The Condensation algorithm

A fundamental problem addressed by this book is: to infer, from data captured with a single video camera, the configurations of some known objects, as a function of time. The objects may deform or move throughout the sequence, and if possible the inference should be accomplished in real time. The background is not assumed rigid or stationary, and its 3D structure is not known.
