In Potsdam-Bornim, the suitability of various grass species – fresh and as silage – as co-substrates for biogas production was investigated. Gas production over the course of time can be well defined with an exponential function. The gas production measured is between 678 and 929 l biogas per kg of organic dry matter over a period of 28 days. The results do not seem to be grass species specific, but dependent on the quality of the silage.
