Student motivation is essential to ensuring an optimum level of learning, training and skill development. This motivation can depend on many factors, although one very important factor involves «activating student participation». Moreover, participation by businesses is invaluable for developing the teaching of certain subjects and degrees. This study attempts to put active learning into practice and to advance in the objectives of European convergence regarding educational quality. To do so, it presents a new teaching method composed of co-operation between students, teachers and businesses. It also presents the results of having applied this method, as well as the opinions of the students who followed this methodology. The combination of the teaching methodologies of the case method and of group work, supported by the use of audiovisuals, has allowed co-operation between teachers, students and businesses in the design and application of the Triangulation in Teaching Method (TTM). The results achieved from applying Triangulation in Teaching have been highly satisfactory for the three different groups involved. The study presents the students’ opinions of various aspects of this teaching. This methodology tries to motivate students by directly involving them in their own learning, thereby allowing both students and teachers to get close to the business world. Moreover, the use of this method allows students to acquire various skills, competencies and abilities beyond the traditional and theoretical knowledge learned from lecture classes alone. Finally, it should be highlighted how this method can be applied to other subjects, disciplines and degrees.
