Comparative innovation trajectories of US and Japan: the case of robotics

In this paper, an analysis is made of the capabilities and the competitive position of the innovation system in Japan in the field of robotics, using patent, publications, market related and interviews data. Based on the techno-economic network model, an analysis is carried out to analyze the three poles of activity-science, technology and the market-focusing on knowledge flows. A comparison is made with the situation in the US.
