Desconstruindo preconceitos sobre a homoparentalidade

Nao obstante a investigacao nao ter evidenciado diferencas significativas ao nivel do desenvolvimento psicologico das criancas provenientes de familias homoparentais versus familias heteroparentais, subsistem percepcoes sobre os efeitos negativos da homoparentalidade. Derivando de uma visao heteronormativa da familia, estas percepcoes poderao constituir um factor de stresse para as familias homoparentais, ganhando contornos particularmente graves se forem evidenciadas pelos profissionais da rede psicossocial que atendem as suas necessidades. Neste trabalho, efectua-se uma revisao da investigacao psicologica sobre o desenvolvimento psicologico de criancas educadas em contexto homoparental, maioritariamente em familias encabecadas por lesbicas. Os resultados destes estudos sao confrontados com as atitudes de estudantes e profissionais de diversas areas psicossociais no que diz respeito a homoparentalidade, particularmente com os dados de um estudo portugues em curso. Finalmente, sao delineadas algumas implicacoes em termos da formacao dos agentes psicossociais.
