A new dual-band planar inverted-f antenna for ISM-band applications

This paper proposes a new dual-band planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) for ISM-band applications. The proposed antenna is designed using the Microwave Studio Software of Computer Simulation Technology (CST). The measured results of the antenna are compared with the simulated results. The effects of antenna parameters such as the slit geometry and ground plane are studied. Both lower and upper frequency bands can be determined independently, which is very useful for the design of dual-band antennas. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
