Reliability assessment of single-stage/two-stage PFC converters

In this paper, a boost-forward converter, as a two-stage PFC, is compared with the fly-back converter, as a single-stage PFC, from reliability point of view. Based on measurement results, the reliability of the single-stage and two-stage PFCs have been calculated. It is shown that the single-stage PFC has a higher reliability than the latter.
