Numerical simulation of fish behavior and fish movement through passages. (Zugl. Dissertation).

The aim of this study was to develop a numerical model to simulate the rise behavior in fish passages. The model concept for the fish movement is based on the minimization of the energy expended along a swimming path (low energy concept). In combination with a fish memory, in the form of a short-term memory, and under consideration of turbulence effects it has shown, that simulated and experimental swimming paths match well.
