MOTOR CARRIERS' AND SHIPPERS' PERCEPTIONS OF THE CARRIER CHOICE DECISION

This study investigates the importance of 35 carrier selection variables as perceived by both carriers and shippers. The ranking discrepancies identified in this study indicate that shippers and carriers do not classify most selection variables similarly. If the results of this study are representative of the majority of carriers in the population, they are not adequately emphasizing the more important shipper selection variables.
