This paper addresses a modification for reducing operating noise of an cable-puller EPB(Electronic Parking Brake) system. Recently, as an application of EPB system in the vehicles has been broadened, drivers’ complaint about operating noise of EPB has been larger. The root cause of operating noise of EPB is comprised of 3 main factors, the first is the initial source like motor and reduction gear set, the second is transfer characteristics like rubber bush, bracket and body, and the last is resonance characteristics between the operating frequency and the system’s natural frequency. In this study, many methods like tests and CAE analysis was carried out to reduce the initial source and transfer amount of noise and vibration, and to avoid the superposition of natural frequency. Improved sound characteristics of EPB assembly in laboratory test don’t agree with improved sound result on the vehicle test. This shows interior vehicle sound result is influenced by vibration characteristics as well as sound characteristics.
