Crosstalk of Parallel Components for Microfluidic Systems

Numerical simulations based on first principle equations is used to study the crosstalk phenomena and elimination mechanism for the parallel microchannel systems as microarray. The cases of this study focus on the surface tension driven flow include inkjet printing system, stamping by stamper protein microarray with embedded microchannels and the filling of H-shaped parallel microchannels. The parallel arrangements of microfluid components in terms of configuration as well as the parallel operation mode are the key issues to ensure the least crosstalk.Copyright © 2004 by ASME
