Foreword: Promoting the use of registry‐based national cancer surveillance data for colorectal cancer prevention and control

This supplement on colorectal cancer represents the diligentefforts of over 60 investigators from the Centers for Disease Controland Prevention (CDC), the National Cancer Institute (NCI), popula-tion-based cancer registries, academic institutions, ORC Macro, andthe American Cancer Society. The articles are based mainly on can-cer incidence data from population-based cancer registries thatparticipate in the CDC’s National Program of Cancer Registries(NPCR) and/or the NCI’s Surveillance, Epidemiology, and EndResults (SEER) Program.
