Research on fault diagnosis criterion for system clock of fiber optic gyroscope

Abstract This study is undertaken to determine a fault diagnosis criterion for system clock broken off of fiber optic gyroscope. The paper begins with analysis on the manifestation of FOG system clock broken off, and the factors impacting on the probability of FOG output consecutively identical, followed by comparison experiment. Simulation and calculation method to determine the fault diagnosis criterion is provided. The result shows that quantization, pre-amp gain, and output filter are the main factors impacting on the probability of FOG output consecutively identical. The author suggests that if there are six consecutively identical outputs, it means that the FOG system clock is broken off.
