Analysis of vertical monopoles in a grounded substrate using the discrete real‐images method

The problem of a vertical monopole embedded in a grounded substrate has been analyzed using the integral-equation formulation. The discrete complex-images method has been used to tackle the Sommerfeld integrals encountered in this formulation. However, this method requires the use of time-consuming routines. The aim of this paper is to use the discrete real-images method to solve these integrals, and hence obviates the need to use such complicated routines. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
