Interactive generation of organic reactions by IGOR 2 and the PC-assisted discovery of a new reaction

Abstract IGOR 2 (Interactive Generation of Organic Reactions), a FORTRAN 77 program for the PC is described. It generates molecules and chemical reactions from reaction matrices that represent electron redistribution patterns. The computer assisted discovery and realization in the laboratory of an unprecedented reaction is reported.
