A model formulation system for information system project selection

Abstract Model management systems (MMS) support the formulation, analysis and interpretation of mathematical models. This paper describes the development of a model formulation system that can guide managers in formulating a decision model for the selection of information system projects. In addition to the explanation of the development of the system, this paper presents some initial results on a prototype software MMS component that is capable of formulating linear goal programming models for IS project selection.
