Primary Synchronization Signal for D2D Communications in LTE-Advanced

In this letter, we present a general construction of synchronization signals specifically tailored for device-to-device (D2D) communications in the 3GPP LTE-Advanced system. Major properties of these signals are shown analytically, and some practical examples are further analyzed numerically. It is shown that these synchronization signals can provide 50% complexity reduction of the corresponding matched filters by utilizing central-symmetry signal properties.
