Synthesis of digital filters by means of a modified bilinear transformation

A modified bilinear transformation is proposed which provides better mapping between continuous-time and discrete-time frequencies. The transformation is used to derive a general second-order digital filter from a prototype analog filter. Numerical analysis and simulated results are presented to validate the concept.<<ETX>>
