Intelligent diagnostic system for a solar heating system

Abstract An expert system has been developed for troubleshooting a solar heating system located on a university campus. The expert system employs both heuristic and generic knowledge to diagnose the abnormal behaviors that are observed in the solar heating system. The heuristic and generic diagnostic knowledge were acquired from the designer of, and textbooks on, the solar heating system. The expert system was implemented in g2 diagnostic assistant (GDA) and can be used for troubleshooting other similar solar heating systems.
