Cubical anatomy of several ducts and vessels by injection method of acrylic resin. X. Arterial distribution of the palate in some mammals.

So far, researches on the blood vessels distributing to the palate have been carried out only as part of the systematic angiology. Since form and area of the palate present various features among mammalian species, it goes without saying that the palatine vasculature also shows considerably many differences. It is no exaggeration to say that descriptions of the distributing arteries to the palate in literature have been made merely on their nomenclatures, nothing on their ramifications and supplying territories. The present author has observed on the following items :— Origin of the arteries distributed to the palate, appearing points of them to the palate, their directions, ramification features and distributing territories, anastomoses among the branches, blood supply to the transverse palatine ridges and papillae characterized in each species, relations between the distributing arteries to the palate and those in the nasal cavity, lip and cheek, with exception of finer vasculature in the palatine mucous membrane and blood vessels in the palatine tonsil.
