The Pipeline Analysis Package an interactive PCbased package for simulating data flow within an arithmetic pipeline, has been developed. It is designed for use by undergraduate and graduate students with background in computer ar-chitecture and parallel processing. Computerbased Tool for Analyzing Information Flow is an economical and effective tool in introducing arithmetic pipelines to students. It allows the student to design hardware and analyze its functionality without building the circuit. In addition, Pipelining shows detailed data flow which makes it easy for the student to envision exactly how the pipeline works. This paper presents the teacl1ing effects, as well as the performances of Computer-based Tool for Analyzing Information Flow.
