Partition coefficient: Determination and estimation

This volume gathers the work of researches actively working on current problems involving the solubility and partitioning properties of bioactive compounds. Topics covered include: current efforts to understand the partition coefficient; the role of molecular structure in the partitioning process; thermodynamics and energetics of partitioning, with an emphasis on the environmental significance of this parameter. The novel filter probe extractor for measuring the partition coefficient is discussed, along with methods for approximation such as RP-HPLC and parameterization of the fragment constant.
