Design and Simulation of High Tooth Contact Ratio of Face Gear Drive with Helical Pinion

In order to improve load-carrying ability and dynamic performance of face-gear derive,a novel approach is developed for design of face gear pair with high contact ratio.The amplitude of loaded transmission errors that generates vibration and noise is reduced by design of parabola coefficient of tool plunging and parameter of parabola apex.The coefficient of simultaneous pairs of meshing teeth has been introduced in order to calculate the contact ratio in a meshing cycle.Three techniques are considered:local synthesis,tooth contact analysis(TCA)and loaded tooth contact analysis(LTCA). The developed method is illustrated with numerical examples.The results confirm that a gear drive with minor transmission errors is achieved and the contact ratio reachs more than 3.0.
