Research on Video Quality of Video Transmission over IP

Based on the characteristics of video frames, this paper proposed a QoS-guarantee scheme of video transmission by utilizing MPEG-4 TRACE file as source. We established a simulation system on video transmission, analyzed the property of video transmitting over IP network and judged the quality of video by PSNR criterion. As the result of comparing the simulations between the conditions under QoS and none-QoS network environments, the mechanism presented by this paper is proved to be efficient on video quality improving.
