BIM Information Collaborative Framework Based on Supply Chain Management

The similarities and differences between the information transfer of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and the information flow transfer of building supply chain were analyzed firstly, and then a collaborative framework of BIM information in the perspective of supply chain management was proposed. Taking the construction phase, which generated the maximum amount of information in the whole life cycle as an example to study the application of the framework, two delivery standards of BIM information for the design-construction and constructionoperation phases were established respectively, and the depths of the BIM delivery models were refined correspondingly. Finally, some useful advices on BIM implementation for construction enterprises were drawn. It was shown that BIM technology should focus on the integrity of process, the initiative and consistency of behavior of participants, which were in accordance with the main concepts of supply chain management. Construction enterprises should pay more attention to the needs of information integrity not only for the geometric information but also for the non-geometric information.
