A warm welcome to the Third ACM International Workshop on Mobile Opportunistic Networks -- MobiOpp'12. We are very excited to introduce you to the technical program of our workshop, which includes 9 papers, 5 demos and 4 posters representing highquality research conducted over the broad spectrum of topics related to opportunistic networking.
This year's MobiOpp received 44 submissions, coming from all continents (Brazil, India, Japan, Korea, Europe and USA). The task of providing a technical program was challenging and time-consuming, but ultimately a very rewarding one for the Technical Program Committee (TPC). Each paper was assigned to, at least, three TPC members and received reviews from either TPC members or external reviewers carefully selected by TPC members. The acceptance rate was approximately 36%. Authors of accepted papers are distributed across different regions as follows: Europe, Middle East, and Africa (67.8%), Asia/Pacific Area (16.9%), United States (13.9%), and Latin America (1.7%).
The conference program has been structured into three technical sessions, namely Social Forwarding, Analysis of Opportunistic Protocols, and Opportunistic Network Applications. Moreover, we organized two invited keynote sessions and a poster and demonstration session.
