Through market analysis it has been reported that many issues have occurred concerning the reliability of the medical drug infusion pump’s performance in administering drugs into the human body. A test method that demonstrates the reliability of the drug infusion pump is critical insofar as it is directly connected to the patient’s life, and so in this study we have analyzed its failure trends of each part through the analysis of the failure mode of the drug infusion pump, and we have developed equipment as well as a test method that allows demonstration of the reliability of the control switch, with which frequent failures have been observed as being expected to occur. On this basis, a lifespan test has been conducted on the switch, and a study has been conducted in order to demonstrate the reliability of the drug infusion pump by establishing a guaranteed lifetime.
