A unified theory of fault diagnosis and distributed fault management in communication networks

In this paper, we present a new f/sub 1//f/sub 2/f/sub /spl lambda//-invalidation model which provides a realistic representation of the behavior of faulty units for the diagnosis of heterogeneous communication networks with unreliable communication links and a continuum between classical invalidation models in system-level diagnosis theory. A distributed algorithm for the diagnosis of the units in heterogeneous communication networks is proposed.
