The purpose of this study was to redefine type and usage pattern of multipurpose space in high school in order to provide design guidelines for multipurpose space responding to the 7th revised education curriculum for high school. The research was focused on analyzing floor plan type and usage patterns of multipurpose space of newly constructed school. The research methods were used are as follows. 1. literature review for defining meaning of multipurpose space for high school 2. analysis of floor plans of case study schools 3. field survey with an in-depth interview and participant observation. In results, 7types of multipurpose space are classified and frequency and patterns of users’ activities are discussed.
