Model Based Diagnosis of Sensor Faults for ESP-Systems

Abstract Electronic stability program (ESP) is a driving dynamical control system that serves to support driver in critical driving situations. A basic component integrated in the ESP-system is an on-line sensor monitoring system that is mainly used for detecting faults in sensors as early as possible so that a fail control can be prevented. Aim of this contribution is to present a model based sensor monitoring concept for the ESP-system that is developed, implemented and now produced in series by the company Continental Teves.
