Temperature distribution over the granule of a dispersed solid during nonuniform heat evolution inside the granule : A steady-state case

The steady-state distribution of a temperature field inside the granule of a dispersed solid consisting of two subsystems, which are related to each other by radiant heat transfer, is considered. Thermal energy is released in a subsystem at the expense of a certain physical or physicochemical process. It is shown that under the conditions of a highly exothermic reaction proceeding on the grain of a real catalyst, the temperature of the subsystem (active sites of the catalyst) at which heat is released can be hundreds degrees higher than the measured temperature of the grain as a whole.
