Simulation Study on Impulse Voltage Caused by Intrusion of Lightning Wave into Low Voltage Power Cable

The impulse voltage caused by intrusion oflightning wave into low voltage power cable laying down inpower dispatching center building is researched when thefactors, such as different cable wiring schemes, whether thepiezoresistors are installed and the number of piezoresistorgroups, are respectively considered. Simulation results showthat the nodal voltage amplitude increases with the length ofcable while the piezoresistor is not adopted; the nodal impulsevoltages along the cable can be effectively suppressed whilethe piezoresistors are adopted; and the impulse voltage can befurther decreased when the cables are loaded. Whenpiezoresistor groups are installed in both master distributingcabinet and power supplies for micro-electronic devices, theimpulse voltage caused damage to micro-electronic devices inthe building can be effectively relieved.
