Anodic Passivation of Iron and Steel in Solutions containing Non-oxidising Inorganic Inhibitors and Breakdown of Passivity by Chloride Ions

AbstractThe effect of 3 inhibitors on the anodic passivation of iron and steel was investigated. Values of passivation current were determined by potentiostatic and potentiodynamicmethods. In the former the break-through potential gave an indication when corrosion spots occurred.
