Virtual assembly technology in complex engineering design

From the view of engineering application,the virtual assembly in engineering design is defined.The crucial modeling technique and basic idea of virtual assembly in complex engineering design is discussed.The design method,in which design,simulation and analysis is executed interactively until the result is satisfied,is adopted to complex engineering design.Then virtual assembly technology is applied to the design of magnetic levitation train depot successfully for the first time,by using scene navigation,dynamic simulation and collision detection to verify the rationality and reliability of design.The practical application shows that the virtual assembly in engineering design provides an effective and reliable design method for complex engineering system design.
