A rule based approach to construction of a local network model for decentralized voltage control

Abstract This paper presents a rule based approach to the construction of a local network model for decentralized voltage control. The objective is to develop a tool that will assist in the decision-making process undergone when voltage problems exist. This paper describes a technique for identifying the problem area and associating it with the most effective set of control actions for resolving the problem. The results of applying the approach to the AEP 118-bus test system are presented in detail.
