Secuestro pulmonar: 8 casos

SUMMARY Introduction: The pulmonary kidnapping, congenital malformation characterized by pulmonary embryonic cystic tissue without function and with vascularization of a systemic anomalous artery, is few know because of its low incidence. They classify in intralobar (75%) and extralobar (25%). They are frequent at left side and in low lobes (60%-90%). The majority presents inflammatory neumopaties repeated in the same place. Aim: To describe characeristics of operated pulmonary kidnappings. Material y Method: Descriptive-retrospective study. Period January, 1988 - June, 2003. The information was obtained of clinical cards and record of biopsies. Age, sex, clinical characteristics, diagnostic methods, surgical treatment, evolution and pathological findings. Results: Total: 8 patients, 6 women and 2 men. Age average 22 year old, range: 2-63, median: 14. The presentation was infectious processes in 5 cases, hemoptoyc tear in 1
