On this particular research, with a goal of developing a light-weight material bumper beam, optimum beam using composite materials in rear bumper was developed with the goal of FMVSS, IIHS, reducing repair cost by improve performance and conflict prevention performance by weight reduction of vehicles. For comparing with the performance of various composite, the optimum specification that was calculated using DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) and applied PP-GF45, GMT Plus and HIMT has been determined by constructing a table of orthogonal array and running a crash accordingly. The optimum specification has been reached and approved by comparing performances of the beam using PP-GF45 and the beam using GMT Plus through crash analysis and crash assessment.
