Differentiation of Aspergillus sojae from Aspergillus oryzae by polyacrylamide gel disc electrophoresis.

SUMMARY: Alkaline proteinases from strains of Aspergillus oryzae and A. sojae migrated with species-specific mobility in electrophoresis on polyacrylamide gels; the protein patterns were not affected by age or cultural conditions. The results support the establishment of A. sojae as a species distinct from A. oryzae.
