Combined control of matrix converter fed induction motor drive system

In this paper, a control strategy to combine space vector modulation and vector control technique for matrix converter fed induction motor drive system is proposed. This control strategy is implemented by a combined controller, which combines the advantages of matrix converter with the advantages of the vector control technique. Using this controller, it is possible to compensate the output of matrix converter under unbalanced input voltage conditions. Simulation results are shown to demonstrate the effectiveness of the combined controller. Experimental tests are carried out on matrix converter prototype verifying the practical feasibility of the proposed control scheme.
