Study on Stress-field in Eccentric Decouple Charge by Dynamic Photo-elastic Experiments

The analysis of the dynamic photo-elastic experimental results shows that a charge pattem may have a significant effect on the distribution of the initial shock wave pressure on the chamber wall. Such an inital pressure caused by an eccentric decouple charge will decrease with the increase of the distance between the chamber wall and the cartridge surface. The shockwaves in the surrounding rocks in an eccentric decouple charge are actually much more powerful than that in a couple charge, whose wave-front is shaped similar to that of the chamber. The distribution and propagation of the shock waves in an eccentric decouple charge is characterized by a very complicated shear deformation, which may result in the crushing of the surrounding rocks and expansion of the chamber.
